Pichai's visit to India this time is mainly focused on small and medium businesses in the country. With this initiative, Google hopes to reach thousands of businesses around the country. Since it's designed for India, SMBs can use the program grow their digital presence not just in English but nine Indian languages including Hindi, Telugu and Marathi.
Alongside Digital Unlocked, Google also launched Primer, an app to teach SMBs skills to grow. Primer works offline and is now available for download on Play Store for free. This app will help SMBs to move from a basic digital presence to an advance one.
During this visit, Pichai will also be addressing college students at IIT Kharagpur where he got his engineering degree in 1993. He will interact with students, something that's core to most of Pichai's trip to India.
